MOODY
AUTOMOTIVE

High Performance Project

This is a 1/8th scale Sprint car. You can tell its size by the coke can.
This vehicle comes with a complete roll cage.

This is not a toy. This is a real scaled racing vehicle unlike most R/C vehicles today.
The picture left you can see the front panhard bar can be adjusted to
control the CGH (center of gravity height)
Raising the panhard bar will increase front bite (more steering).
Lowering the panhard bar will reduce front bite (less steering).
Right picture you can see a closeup of the front suspension.
Notice all of the mini hiem joints. This sprint car is built solid.

The Moody Sprint car is scaled after the full size car right
down to the dual radius arms front and rear.
Both front and rear axles float up and down on these arms
controlled by the shocks and panhard bars.

The rear end also has a panhard bar for controling rear CGH.
This sprint car has a soild rear end. No differential gears allowed in this class.
From the picture on the right you can see the motor placement in the vehicle.
The power to weight ratio is high, 2.5+ hp to 5 lbs.
Which makes this a very quick vehicle in it class.

The clutch has a large dog bone to the rear end which drives the wheels.
Note the small set screw on the bottom of the rear end.
This allows you to fill with LUBRIPLATE #105 grease for the rear end gears.
Also notice the large header coming out on the side.
This vehicle is very loud. Just going to have to put a tune pipe on it.

The brake system is one of the best we seen yet.
Notice its design on the left side of the axle to help with left rear steer.
The gas tank is mounted in the very back.
No quick fuel system needed because theres no pitstops.

As you can see the front its not finished. Electronics not installed.
Note the yellow arrows in the right picture.
The shock can be adjust very quickly by one 4-40 screw.
Also optional front wing can be mounted here too.

All painted up and looks GREAT!

As you can see we first painted the desired color with lexan paint and
applied the stickers and finished with "OLYMPIC" Oil Based
Polyurethane Gloss Finish #43824 so the fuel wont melt the paint.

If you look closely you can see that there's stagger in the tires.
1/4 inch is normal for oval clay tracks.
Also, hubs have been offset to shift the weight to the left.
Just like the real thing...
Dirt Oval now that's really FAST.
